Abstracts are invited from all members of the multi-professional team involved in the clinical care of renal patients and from all those involved in research related to renal disease. We look forward to receiving abstracts on all aspects of renal disease / renal patient care, thereby maintaining the meetint's roleas a forum for discussion of issues chosen by those at the sharp end of renal care. In particular we would welcome abstracts that are related to the main topics of the meeting. ALL ABSTRACTS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE. For access to the Abstract Submission form and further details please go to either www.britishrenal.org or www.renal.org.
The Renal Association award for the Young Renal Scientist was established in 2005 to highlight the work of the best basic scientists working in kidney research in the UK. This is a very prestigious award and is strongly contested. It was introduced so that our able young basic scientists were able to compete for a mark of recognition from their peers that could be used to strengthen applications for fellowships at all levels. If your area of research is kidney related then you are eligible to apply. In addition you must:
All abstracts submitted by scientists wishing to be considered for the Award will be reviewed by a special panel of 5 senior UK renal scientists. The top 4 abstracts will be selected for the Young Renal Scientist Forum at the Annual Conference (10 minute oral presentation). Two internationally recognised scientists will select the winner on the day.
Having your abstract put forward for the Young Renal Scientist Award does not exclude it from the standard review process and the abstract will still be considered for both oral and poster presentations during the meeting.
